Rainforest Diorama: a place I would never want to visit

We started  learning about Brazil in geography this week and one of the suggested activities was to create a rainforest diorama.  We ended up working on it for two days (with the painting, etc.) and it turned out pretty cool.

 The finished project

1st level:  Forest Floor
 2nd level:  Understory
 3rd level: Canopy
 4th level:  Emergents
Julianna was pleased with how it turned out.  Of course, if you ask her I'm sure her answer will be, "It's lame."

The obligatory Flat Stanley doll:  Safari girl, Lamean (Her doll names cannot be explained.)  Yes, we have our nature expeditions a little skewed, but hey, if you look close, there's a scorpion on the forest floor.  Nature is nature is nature in our book.  Ha!
